Switch Technology
Various switches allow students with limited mobility to use a computer to speak for them
and complete assignments. Switches, similar to a computer mouse, manipulate the computer
through a touch pad, by head or eye movement, or even by breath. Switches can be suitable
for people with cognitive difficulties, developmental delays and physical limitations. In the
simplest use they are a clear and simple way to demonstrate action/reaction often referred
to as cause and effect. In the more complex use they could be the means to control mobility
or interact with the environment.
Switch Control IOS
Switch control IOS can be used with apple devices like I phones, Ipads, and Ipods. Switch2scan is a wireless interface which connects to the Ipad via Bluetooth. This interface can connect up to 4 switches.
